Due to the lack of vegetation, the geomorphology is the dominant element of the landscape, with geological formations that are highly valuable due to their visual uniqueness and cultural, scientific and educational interest. The most important formations are found in areas of recent volcanic activity, those caused by erosion of the old volcanic edifices, formations covered with jable, the sediments of the Basal complex and in other formations that hold fossils which allow for geological dating. Despite the dearth of vegetation, the existence of micro-climates allow for endemic plant life, some of which has great value for botanists because they are examples of formations in an almost natural state.
